In today’s lesson we were editing our prelim on final cut pro. The first thing we learnt was bins. This is a folder in which you Put all your footage in so that if you deleted your footage you would Have a back up due to the bin. This bin is called fresher. The second bin we learnt was a login bin. You put all the footage you know you are going to use in this. Bins are very helpful because it keeps you organised. If you did not use your bins then you would have footage all over the place and it would become very confusing. Once we had done that with our footage we started editing. You have to screens on final cut pro. One screen plays back what is in your timeline(this is your edited footage)and the other screen plays back any footage from your bins. To get the footage you want into the timeline you double click on the footage you want from your login bin. This footage will come up in the right hand screen. Click the screen and drag over to the timeline and this will put that footage in the timeline. To cut a clip in the timeline to put your mouse at the end of the clip untill two arrows facing opposite directions come up. Once this comes up click and drag backwards. The problem we had with our editing was the outside noise in our film. Because we filmed outside we had different noises in different scenes. To fix this we copied the soundtrack of the outside noise from one of the clips and pasted this over the whole film so that we had a contionous outside noise through it.
